Steppin' and Stampin'

Stamping takes on a new meaning with this fun embossing technique I saw in the August/Sept 2004 Paper Crafts magazine:

1. To acheive this dimensional look, cut a piece of carsock a little bigger than the WOOD MOUNTED stamp image you are going to use, immerse the cardstock in water, then pat with paper towel to remove excess water.

2. Place a mousepad upside down on the floor, lay the damp cardstock on the mousepad, place the stamp on top of it and step on the stamp. Press it hard with your foot. The stamp's image becomes imprinted on the cardstock, similar to dry embossing.

3. Let the carstock dry, then trim around the image and use it to accent cards, tags, or other paper projects.

*** Then of course post a picture of your project in our photo gallery so the rest of us can see your creation! ***

Too kewl! I thought you had to use freshly homemade paper in order to achieve the look. Well, I for one am going to go out and buy a mouse pad! Thanks!

The contest sent me over to this forum and I found this post I havent seen before ohmy.gif !

So I tried a few today..and they are drying right now. I found that it works best if it is a simple stamp..that doesnt have much detail.

Thaks for this tip..its so cool and so simple.
