You know how I said I don't like MY heritage LO's! I mean, I love the heritage look/feel. But I have such a difficult time getting what I want when I do them myself. So here I am down to the last day of this contest I'm in (final LO's must be in by midnight tomorrow). I'm frustrated!

Could you all please give me some help?

This was version one:



After some great CC from others, I lowered the title font so it wasn't mixed in with the stitching and picked a frillier font for the journaling. This resulted in version two:



So then I decided to add some beads into the frame corners in an effort to bring in the greenish color that's in the striped paper. But I'm not sure about that. Here's what it looks like. Do you think I should go with or w/out the greenish beads? Do you see any other changes that might help me improve this LO?



I'm still not happy with the tag in the lower left. It's like the "and" is in the wrong spot or something. I've tried it several ways and I'm just unhappy no matter what I do with it. Maybe I should just dump that part all together???

I love everything about it..but that Tag--?perhaps it should be more in theme with info on the Dance studio? Like hours open..street address..professional partner/instructor.. ribbons or competition wins.. You already have the Names in the journal box.. So a prize and/or more on the theme tag would work for this one? Or like you said,,just dump the whole tag thing.. Now I am agonizing along with you...

Maybe for the "and" do the "&" and then put the whole thing in a diagonal. Or, leave the names where they are and put the ampersand ontop inthe middle of the two names - so it overlaps? Not sure how to explain what I am invisioning I like the jewels, did you try changing the colors to red (deep ruby red) or the neutral color (creamy color). I really do think the layouts are fabulous! Love that photo too!

I love that you changed the font and therefore to my eye it balanced that space.

Love this one Cindy ... the beads add a nice touch to the look and feel of the page ... the "and" on the tag does seem out of place so perhaps the ampersand would work better. I think you've got a winner with this one though.

Cindy and Jason and i talked online about these pages earlier..and now I think she must be really confused .. ...so many opinions...but so many ideas too! Cool idea to try red jewels instead of green...that might do it too. I think its beautiful! and the photo is wonderful!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for all the great CC! This has helped me a ton! I tried all of the suggestions and kept the ones I liked. Tossed out a few too. But I think I now have a project that "feels" right to me. I uploaded the 4th and, what I hope is the, final project into the gallery.

The changes I made this last time included:

-- Removing names from journaling and replaced with "brother and sister"
-- Added comma's to the Windsor, Ontario, Canada, line.
-- Changed the font and then relocated the "and" in my name tag
-- Then made the tag slightly smaller
-- Deepened the green jewels and opted to keep them
-- Moved the lace/ribbon so it's on top of the edge stitching
