I have just done this LO using a photo from friend's Christmas card. I would like suggestions please:

1. I was thinking of putting their names on the distressed board paper, graffiti style, not that I know how to do that mind you. The idea being it has the contrast of prettiness and shabbiness but now I'm not sure.

2. the gap to the left of the photo on the green printed paper - what should I do there? (I just remembered I was going to use the computer to print out on vellum oops happy.gif oh well you might have another idea??

Any other suggestions appreciated thank you.

BTW all the angles are in line with one another - that is the top pink paper; the photo; and the bottom pink paper. The distressed paper is placed straight across the page just a bit below halfway. Hope that makes sense. I think the angle I took the pic at makes it look a bit crooked.

Oh Deb ... it's a gorgeous LO as is ... but I understand wanting to put their name on the wall ... and I like the idea of the grafitti look. Maybe if you did the name on a different piece of paper and cut it out ... placing it on a slant like the picture above it ... then have the first letter of their name extending up and into the green area like a billboard type grafitti sign ... you could leave it flat and slanted or pop dot it to give it a bit of uniqueness as if it were standing alone to highlight the pic. . You could also put some shiny rhinestones or bling around the name as if their name was in lights though that might not be right for the distressed look of the wall.

I can say I don't think it needs much more. Good luck ... I can't wait to see your finished project.

Debbie, I didn't care for the idea of adding the names on the distressed board until I read, "graffiti style". Now that would be awesome!

I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say you refer to a "print out on vellum". I think an embellishment of some sort would look better. I think you will have enough writing when you add their names and I noticed that you have already titled the layout, "love". So, unless you will be journaling something about the photo in the 'green space', I would simply add some kind of embellishment.

Graffiti style lettering is a terrific idea! I think this would be perfect to blend the shabby and the feminine look together. I like the idea of making the first letter stand out a bit more by placement and pop-dot lifts.

Computerized journaling on vellum is also a great idea for the green space. Depending on how much journaling you planned on doing, you might consider placing their name in the green area and running your journaling across the painted wood paper.

Whatever you end up putting in the green space, I think it should run parellel to the pink ribbon just above the painted wood paper, rather than the slant. At first glance my gut tells me that might be easier on the eyes and keep that wonderful photo in it's proper focus. However, once the print gets placed up into the LO, it might 'feel' better along that slant. It's hard to tell without playing around with it.

I really like the color mix you've chosen here. Unique and just perfect for that photo too! I'm loving the look you are trying to achieve here as well. Can hardly wait to see your final project! smile.gif

I lvoe the idea of the graffitti style too. just like cindy says - Perhaps you could do a computerised version on your puter. Then make it inot a rub-on as in Cindys tut?????
