Bad admin person! Bad admin person! Geeez, I've gotten so bad about getting these challenges posted on time! I could really use some help here. Anyone willing to take over the monthly challenge announcements? Looking for someone who would like to come up with fun challenges to help coax our muses around here. Since we're an "all arts" type of website, we like posting challenges that encourage peeps to use whatever medium they enjoy or want to try using that month - to create a variety of projects that includes a wide area of interest.

Although I always hand out goodies to folks who finish all 12 by the end of the year, there's no monthly gifty exchange or requirement for mailing out goodies to folks who achieve the challenges. We just do them for the fun of it and sometimes add a blinky to our signature block to indicate how many we've achieved thus far. Unless of course you're like me and forget to do that part. Ugh! I so need a new brain! g.gif

Shout out if you are interested in posting our monthly challenges!

Speaking of challenges remember challenges can be offered up by anyone at anytime here at CHW! Don't wait for the official/unofficial monthly announcement to share creative ideas with your peers here at CHW! If you've got a challenge idea - by all means, share it with us in the "Art Challenges" forum. Anytime at all. We could all use a good art teaser from time to time to keep our creative juices bubblin'!

Okay - commercial break over - Now it's time for me to announce the "better late than never" June challenge mixed with an "earlier is even better" July challenge. biggrin.gif If I told you I waited until Mid June to make the announcement so I could use those catchy titles would you believe me????? I've got a bridge I'd like to sell you too, then.

For the months of June and July I challenge our membership to use whatever media tickles your fancy to create a piece of jewelry, clothing, or body ornament to embellish your wonderful self with! It can be as simple or as complex as you want. I'm looking forward to seeing how many different techniques, media's, themes, elements, and personal views can be put toward creating something wonderful for showing off our attire!

Make a lapel pin, a bracelet, maybe a charm to hang from a chain. Try your hand at a vest, a scarf/hat combo, or tackling that recycled jeans purse you've been wanting to try. Maybe consider using ribbons, fabrics, metal pieces, buttons, papers or plastics; beads, recycles goodies, grandma's old gloves, or the latest thing in the craft stores. What? You've got a pair of flip-flops to give a face lift to? Alrighty then. That qualifies as well! There are tons of ideas and options here for anyone with any artful interests!

Come on artsy folks -- let's wear something creative today! What will your muse come up with for this challenge? Add photos of your creations to the 2007 Monthly challenges gallery album, so we can all see your terrific projects!

And I'll get to work on the next set of siggy tags so you can add a new one of those too!
Michele
I love this challenge! laugh.gif Because I am in love with making jewelry lately - so this will be an easy one for me! I'll post some pics later of what I've been doing lately - can't take pics now because I'm at work laugh.gif!

I like this idea too - I have some clothing I've been wanting to make, so hopefully this challenge will inspire me.

Michele
Ok, here is my bling! I made these cell phone charms for some co-workers - I have really been into jewelry lately. I have more, I'll take pics, but these will do for now wink.gif
KimD

Michelle ... those are adorable ... great idea and wow I hope you're charging for them ... DD bought a cell phone charm a few weeks ago with a hello kitty charm on it and spent about $10.00 ... I almost fainted when she told me.

This is a big safety pin that had 3 loops already attached. I just added a heart bead, a teddy bear charm, Star bead and another wire full of beads .. showing it pinned to a paper doillie here.

I'm not into jewelry & beading, but this was fun altho it challenged me to see what I could do with the silver pin.
Cindy/Chip
I'm lovin' the bling you gals have shared. yep - I'm behind... waaaay behind on my challenges too. But I will eventually get back with the program. promise!

What cool things you all have made for this challenge.

Guess I'll jump in with my new pin that I made in my melting pot using UTEE, FLEX and different colors of EP. The base of this pin is Sea Glass. I scanned it before I added the pin back. Added the silver metal face and key charm while the UTEE was still hot, holds the charms like glue.

WOW, JUST WOW,
OMG I JUST LOVE BLING.
Michelle, Judy and Sondra, ab fab my friends. Fan dabby dozie.
(I don't understand those initials Sondra, ie utee , flex and ep. probably not found here in UK, either that or i'm just a dumbo laugh.gif)

Hi Margaret, you are not a dumbo!
UTEE stands for Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel, FLEX is the name of an ingredient that you mix into the UTEE to give it more strength and makes it a bit more flexible so it won't break as easily, it melts right into the UTEE in a melting pot. The EP stands for embossing powder. I think these craft initials are probably American slang. smile.gif

Hugs, Sondra
