Secret Sister Swap

Debbie and I have talked over the year about doing this swap in our group! We had fun last year and we thought it would be fun if we did it again this yr.
Details:

-Deb and I will collect a list of people who are interested and then set it up so you have a secret sister who will not know who you are. (My sons are going to help me with this one so i dont know who they are.)

- you will need to set up a new email , from which you can send emails, cards etc to your secret sister, without her knowing who it is. You will send that email to us .

- you will fill out a simple form about you to be sent to your secret sister and send it to Deb and I.

- until Christmas you can send her things online, like cards, support her and encourage her along through the season. There are some great things to share online.

- We have found it is very fun to tease a little and its fun to know that someone else is thinking of you each day.

-We ask you only send one gift to your sister, this one should be sent by Dec 1, for delivery before our revealing date..a bit earlier if she lives in anohter continent. Limit for the gift is $10.00 and homemade is encouraged.

-When you recieve a gift you will not open it until the revealling date. On that date we will set up a chat where we can get together and open our gifts. The gifts do not have to be crafty but they sure can be. We dont expect elaborate gifts, but simple and fun ones.

-We are hoping that like in other yrs you will find this is a way to get to know the others on the site.

For those who are nto sure about the new email addy:
The new email address needs to be a address you can send a email to your secret sister from and she will not have any idea who sent it. That means sending an email from my benjimum address would be silly because the first time I sent one I would be caught. So you need to set one up with a silly or differnt name that no one will connect with you.

-you only will use this email for a short amount of time, between you and your sister, so you could use a gmail, yahoo or hotmail addy fairly easily. Other times I have done this I never used the email again after the swap was over.

-an example, for an account in gmail: go to http://mail.google.com/mail/help/open.html click on I want gmail and fill out the form.
And you have a new account. You can do similar with yahoo or hotmail.

-be sure to write down your email and your password so that you will remember it later! Oh and dont give too much info when you sign up, so that they cant guess its you.

-then have fun! Your secret sister doesnt know you so you can send her anything you can think of to brighten her day. Ecards, craft stuff, links to something funny, or links to craft stuff, be creative but dont let her know who you are!

-when you get a note from your secret sister you will be able to reply, so do it! You'll get to know each other better and thats the idea!

I enjoyed doing the secret sister swap last year, but I'm going to have to sit this one out.
